The University of the Virgin Islands Announces $30 Million Gift for the Development of a Medical School
For the last 4 years, Strategy Implemented, Inc. (SI) has been working with The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) in developing a 
concept and strategy for a new medical school in the territory. SI congratulates UVI in receiving a $30 million donation for the development of a state-of-the-art medical school. Innovations in Global Medical & Health Education Journal (IGMHE) is Launched
Bloomsbury Qatar Foundation Journals (BQFJ) and Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) have launched Innovations in Global Medical and Health Education on QScience.com, the digital publishing portal for academic research journals.
Innovations in Global Medical and Health Education is a new, peer-reviewed, open-access, international education journal that is dedicated to keeping medical healthcare educators, physicians, healthcare professionals and students abreast of issues related to global medical and health education.
The premiere edition features articles authored by leaders of 3 prominent international medical schools with American roots — American University of Beirut, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar and Duke-National University of Singapore Graduate Medical School — and 4 leaders of evidence-based accreditation, assessment and certification agencies — Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME), Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) and American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Dr. Ben Sachs Joins Strategy Implemented
Boston, August 14, 2013 – Internationally renowned academic physician and executive leader Dr. Ben Sachs has joined Strategy Implemented, Inc. ABMS Appoints Mira Irons, MD, as Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
Chicago, July 15, 2013 – American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the leading not-for-profit organization that oversees the certification and assessment of physician specialists in the United States, has appointed Mira Irons, MD, as the organization’s senior vice president for academic affairs.
Irons, who currently oversees clinical operations of the Division of Genetics at Boston Children’s Hospital and serves as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, in addition to running a busy clinical practice, will officially assume her ABMS role in October. She brings an impressive breadth and depth of experience in academic medicine, clinical practice, medical professional leadership and scientific research.

Washington, D.C., July 15, 2013 – Consisting of a network of U.S. and international medical schools, the Association of American Board of Medical Colleges (AAMC)’s new Global Health Learning Opportunities (GHLO®) Collaborative provides final-year medical students in the U.S. and abroad with international opportunities to pursue clinical, research, or public health electives. The program also promotes faculty engagement and development of increased global awareness and understanding by allowing faculty to become better acquainted with medical students and patient care practices from cross-cultural perspectives.
